Gadgets – Nike iPod/Sportskit
Jun0
It all keeps getting better! Gadgets are great anyway, but those that connect several goals at once, are the best. Like the new Nike/iPod Sportskit
Now you can set your goals and record your progress with your iPod Touch or Nano. Simply take it with you to the gym, connect to your cardio apparatus and climb, step or run the h…out of it. Then at home connect it to your computer and see how many calories you burnt, what distance you did and how it compares to previous workouts.
I also love how it works for running. Clip a detector to your shoe (ofcourse Nike has a shoe with a built in pocket for this), choose a distance for your run on your nano, iPod touch or 3GS phone and go. It will tell you as you run how far you have covered. On bad days where every step hurts you may want to leave home without it, I guess…
The gadget measures your overall performance, your pace (great when you are training to run a specific time in a race!! no more cheating yourself over-estimating your times), and calories etc. And I love the sync to laptop on both of these, great tools for measuring your performance as it improves over time.
Now – we need Polar or Garmin to jump into the mix and add heartbeat to it…and we have it all. Mind you, I love buying new gadgets, so hopefully they’ll change the colour and casing once in a while
In a few years, this kind of functionality will be embedded through nano-technology in your shirt fabric, or your shoelaces…mark my words.
