It’s a crazy world

Maybe this has nothing to do with exercise…then again, maybe it does. It does have to do with feeling good so I figured I might as well add it.
Sometimes you have to do things you enjoy, just for the sake of the enjoyment itself. I recently have been thinking about all those things you love doing, which really you don’t do often enough, maybe because it scares you a little, because your ego gets in the way, because you are supposed to be all grown up etc. I have written about my trip through the sand fields recently, and about falling – those are two things which you might imagine an adult doesn’t do anymore… but it’s such simple fun, that it feels exhilarating TO do.
Some more of these for me are those fairs where you can go in the bumper cars, or go on a ride and scream your head of, or even go through the Spooky Castle in a stupid little car where you KNOW a skeleton is going to jump out at you but you still scream when it does. I love those fairs, maybe exactly because they are precisely as you know they were when you were little. Another one of these activities are walks in the woods when the light is already failing. The closing in of darkness, when you see less and less around you and your focus becomes narrower are spellbinding moments, particularly if shared. It’s like the world loses its power to overwhelm with its vastness and all you see is the little space around you and between you and your companion(s) – offset by that distant (you hope!) creaking or twigs breaking that sets your nerves on edge, so that your senses become heightened in a way you never experience during daylight. I love that time – even running at that time now and again, racing to get home before it really gets too dark to see… it’s special, and that makes me feel great.
