Power of Positive Thinking

I was watching a programme this week on TV, whilst on my treadmill of course ;-) ,  which was claiming this wonderful new fitness movement. Basically, what it boiled down to was the fact that it combined a good solid exercise routine based on yoga moves, pilates and cardiovascular work-out elements with positive thinking. Well – I must say – I couldn’t agree more then that postive thinking will have a serious impact both on your physical well being as well as your mental state. But it isn’t new of course – yogi’s for many hundreds of years have claimed enlightenment leads to better physical well being.

What I totally do agree with though is that many of us forget that positive thinking can be the best support you can give yourself to live a happy, healthy life. As someone recently said “the person whispering in your ear the most, is you”. And this is stunningly true, how many times don’t you hear this little voice inside your head, telling you how you look, what you can or can’t do, what you fear or should do – so why not turn this little nagger into your best ally? Don’t listen to “you can’t do it” but make it repeat after you “I can do this, I am great at this, I will get out there and work on my health” and any other positive statement that you can dream up. Have this whiney little voice tell you how great you look with that glow you get from a good work-out, and have it whisper to you that you are feeling so much better after that quick run even though you had such a long hard day at work.

Using the power of reinforcement, turning the voice inside you to become your champion, and being positive in your statements rather then negative will definitely help you turn up your fitness programme a notch.

So whether you want to follow a “new” regime or not – check yourself and change your attitude first. You’ll be glad you did.

BTW if you are curious to see the new routine – google Intensatie and you should be able to find it.

Just to share and maybe interesting on this subject. Biofeedback. For example. Smiling, although there is notting to smile you give your body information and power to create a higher flow of energy. At first I was sceptic about this theory, however I have tried it and it works remarkably. Even when your diedtired doing a workout after a long day of work.

Positive thinking works in concert with movement and action. You can wish to be in good shape until the cows come home, but going out and walking or lifting orwhatever it is you do is what gets you in shape. The positive thinking is the power behind the action!

I for one am enjoying the power of positive thinking. Yesterday i got fired from my job. And i was not even mad at all. I was staying positive and i still am. Knowing that god has changed my course for something bigger and better.
    Great post
