The new LDN bike - sneak preview

I love the way the fitness industry is never static. Changes in knowledge, scientific breakthroughs and simply ever fasting changing fashion are leading to lighter, better, quicker and easier to use materials  all the time. For absolute eons, cyclists felt they had to keep up the “I am a tough guy” image. Whilst in triathlon new bikes were being brought out with different angles in the frame (for speed and comfort) and three gears instead of two, the purist amongst cyclists maintained that if you could not climb up a hill grunting with pain and effort on a 14-speed bike instead of the 21-speed’s available, you were not a ‘real’ cyclist. Brawn rather then brain, that’s for sure!

Eventually though, even in cycling, things started to change. Mountain bikes were the first signs on new ideas, new terrain to discover and new materials that could handle even the roughest regions on earth. And slowly 21-speeds did get adopted by the tough guys/gals. And now.. we have bikes like the LDN, a phenomenal looking bike, shape based on a “wishing bone” for maximal stability/rigidity whilst flexible enough to round corners and zoom through traffic. Not sure yet when we’ll see one of these on the streets of the city it is named after (London) but still… I love the look and will be saving my pennies to get one in due course!!
