PR Bars – all good stuff

As you know I am always on the look out for great tasting healthy snacks, preferably one with something to offer me pre or post workout and above all, since I am one of the converted - Gluten Free!

The latter is harder then it seems, anything that was made in a facility that also manufactures your standard granola bar, is out for me - I get all sorts of stomach upsets that I don't really care to tell you more about. Suffice to say, I am even pickier then I used to be when it comes to my food.

When I actively competed in triathlons, I was an advocate for PR bars, sticking little pieces of the bars on my handlebars during a race, I could consume them a bit at a time without having to fiddle around with wrappers or miss a bend because I was trying to hold the bar, swallow, breathe and brake at the same time (believe me, that's difficult to do all at the same time, even for an infamous multi-tasker like me!). And now, like Arnie used to say - they are BACK! and back with a vengeance.

Two members of the EFactor community actually were kind enough to send me a box of their brand new flavours and boy, are they hard to choose from:  Peanut Butter Granola, Oatmeal Raisin Granola, Peanut Butter Berry Granola, Apple Pie, Chocolate Mint, Chocolate Peanut, Double Chocolate, Iced Brownie and Yogurt Berry make up the list and having tasted two of them, I am back to being hooked!

PR Bars have a chewy but not hard to swallow (i.e. needing half a litre of liquid to get it down) and besides the great taste they actually help you burn more fat. Their new formula "FASTBURN" promises to eliminate hunger, increase mental focus and optimize performance by controlling blood sugars and using body fat for fuel...

Well - having heard all that, the girls in my office were all over them!! Thank goodness I had had a bar or two before I told them... endurance counts for everything, right? Even when it comes to fighting over a revised, resurrected PR Bar :-)
